School timetabling for principals

Describe your school in plain English. Get a conflict-free timetable.

Tell the AI assistant about your teachers, rooms and rules the way you'd say them out loud. The scheduling engine places every lesson so no teacher, room or class is ever double-booked, and if a week can't work, it tells you what's in the way.

AI setup assistant

Build your school by talking to it.

No spreadsheets to wrangle and no forms to learn first. Describe teachers, subjects, rooms and rules in plain language. The assistant turns them into your school's setup and tells you what it understood, so you can correct it in a sentence. Prefer forms? Every detail is editable there too.

  • Plain English in, rules out. "Ms. Newton can't teach Fridays" becomes a rule the engine enforces.
  • It asks when it's unsure. Every change is described back to you, and problems are flagged the moment they're introduced.
  • Edits, not rebuilds. Add a teacher or change a rule mid-year with one message.

Add Mrs. Cohen for science, 6th and 7th grade. She prefers mornings.
Added Mrs. Cohen (Science) for 6th and 7th, with a morning preference. Should she be off on any days?
Off Tuesdays.
Done. Mrs. Cohen is unavailable all day Tuesday.
Dual-curriculum native

Kodesh and chol, kept in balance.

Two curricula are built in, not bolted on. Tag a subject, time slot or room to a curriculum and the engine keeps each one in its own time. Davening, lunch and assemblies show on the grid as fixed bands that don't use up a teacher, room or teaching period.

  • Curriculum balance. Instructional time per curriculum, per day and per week, at a glance.
  • Enforced or just a label. Make each tag a hard placement rule, or keep it for reporting.
  • Splits and blocks. Ability tracks, electives, pull-outs, combined grades, and subjects that run at the same time across grades.

Conflict-free by construction

Every rule, checked at once.

The engine considers every requirement together and only hands you a timetable where all of your hard rules hold. Preferences, like a teacher's favorite periods or spreading a subject across the week, are met wherever the hard rules allow. If the week can't work, you hear why instead of getting a broken grid.

  • Teacher availability. Days off, blocked periods and max periods in a row.
  • Room rules. Capacity, room types, required or preferred rooms, and one room per subject so materials stay put.
  • Problems caught early. Before it solves, it flags things like a subject with no qualified teacher or more lessons than the week has room for.

Built on Google OR-Tools CP-SAT, the open-source constraint solver that has won repeated gold medals at the MiniZinc Challenge, the annual competition for constraint solvers. When the engine proves a timetable is the best possible for your preferences, it tells you so.

Publish

Share it with staff in one click.

Publishing gives you a viewer code. Teachers open the schedule at schedusolve.com/view and see it by class, teacher, room or student, with no account and no password to forget. They can download it as Excel or print it.

  • Read-only for staff. Only the admins you invite can change anything.
  • Excel the office will actually use. A one-click styled workbook, or build your own with the sheets you pick, including per-student grids.
  • Print-ready. Page breaks per grid, so every class and teacher gets a clean sheet.

The details a real week needs

Made for how schools actually run.

The special cases that break spreadsheet schedules are normal inputs here.

Splits, electives and pull-outs

Split a grade by ability or gender, run electives side by side, pull students out for support, or combine grades into one class. Describe the grouping once and the engine handles the rest.

Drag, pin, re-generate

Drag a lesson where you want it and it's pinned there. Generate again and the engine keeps your pins while it rearranges everything else.

Watch it solve

See live progress while the engine works, and stop it any time. Most of the wait is the engine improving on a schedule that already works.

Every version saved

Each generated schedule is kept in your history, so you can compare drafts and go back to an earlier one.

Built for your team

Invite co-admins by email to build and review the same school. Run more than one school from a single account.

Double periods and room rules

Back-to-back doubles for labs, a subject that should appear at most once a day, and rooms that must, or ideally should, host a class.

How it works

From a conversation to a published schedule.

1

Describe your school

Chat with the assistant, fill in the forms, or both. Teachers, subjects, rooms, periods and the rules that make your school yours.

2

Generate

Click Generate and watch the engine work. You get a full week where every hard rule holds, with preferences met wherever possible.

3

Adjust and publish

Pin the lessons you care about, generate again, then publish a viewer code for staff or export to Excel.

Questions

What principals ask first.

What if our schedule can't work?
Before it solves, Schedusolve checks for problems it can spot up front, such as a subject with no qualified teacher, no room large enough for a class, or more lessons than the week has periods. If the engine still can't place everything, it says so instead of handing you a grid with clashes in it.
Do teachers need accounts?
No. When you publish, you get a viewer code. Staff enter it at schedusolve.com/view to see the schedule by class, teacher, room or student, and can download it as Excel or print it. Only the admins you invite can make changes.
Can I still change things by hand?
Yes. Drag a lesson to a new slot to pin it there, then generate again. The engine keeps your pinned lessons and rearranges everything else around them. You can also edit any detail of your school in the forms instead of the chat.
Does it handle Sunday–Friday weeks, davening and lunch?
Yes. Weeks can run Sunday–Friday or Monday–Friday, with a shorter Friday. Davening, lunch and assemblies appear on the grid as fixed bands that don't use up a teacher, room or teaching period. Kodesh and chol tags keep each curriculum in its own part of the day.
We're not a Jewish day school. Will it work for us?
Yes. The dual-curriculum features are optional. Schedusolve works for any school with a weekly schedule that repeats, including language-immersion and other two-track programs.
Who can see our data?
Each school's data is kept separate, with database access rules that limit it to that school's admins. Staff see only the schedule you publish, and only with your viewer code.
When do we start paying?
When you publish a schedule to staff or export it. Until then, building your school and generating schedules is free, with no time limit and no card. Licenses run July 1 – June 30 and are $500 a year; for a limited time, your first year is $250. You pay online by card or bank account, and the license renews each July 1 until you cancel. Email questions get a reply within one school day.
